Another 19-nor steroid, Trenbolone is structurally similar to nandrolone with some key differences. Namely, trenbolone is a much stronger androgen than nandrolone and also trenbolone in known to have very little estrogenic activity. Trenbolone does not aromatize so bloating and gynecomastia should not be a problem with this compound, however, as a very powerful androgen, trenbolone may cause hair loss, oily skin and prostate enlargement for those users prone to these side effects. As a powerful androgen also with a high anabolic index, trenbolone enjoys a reputation for being very effective for gaining mass, strength, and hardness to a physique and even fat burning.
Trenbolone is somewhat unique in that it is a compound that not only works well but can work well on a limited calorie diet. Trenbolone is used as cattle implants for this very reason. Cattle grow and grow quickly with trenbolone implants. Trenbolone also demonstrates a very positive effect on nitrogen retention, red blood count and glycogen restoration - all of which are important for building muscle and recovering quickly from workouts.
Trenbolone Acetate has a short ( acetate) ester attached making the compound effective for 2-3 days. Typical use of trenbolone acetate involves either daily or every other day injections with dosages in the 75 - 150 mg/day range.
After reading all of the above trenbolone starts to sound like a miracle drug, yet, it does have some drawbacks. Notably, many trenbolone users experience a post-injection cough known as "tren-cough". There does not seem to be hard evidence as to what causes this cough exactly but many users report it (particularly with the acetate ester) and for some it can be very traumatic.
One theory regarding the tren-cough involves the fact that trenbolone is a noted progestin and that the cough is in response to a rapid rise in prolactin while others theorize that the cough is in response to solvents like BA that have been added to the compound. Again, there is no fact based evidence that explains tren-cough.
The subject of progestin however does bring up some of the other negatives related to trenbolone usage. Decreased libido, temporary impotence, bloating and breast tissue growth can occur especially in users who are sensitive to progesterone. Other side effects which will come as no surprise to experienced AAS users include testicular shrinkage and a shut down of the HPTA. HCG use will help with the latter while letrozole and/or dostinex can be used to combat the progesterone related sides. There is some anecdotal reports that tren is hard on the kidneys but no factual evidence exists that suggests this compound is any worse than any other AAS in that regard.
Combined with long acting testosterones and orals like methandienone or oxymetholone, trenbolone will make a great bulking cycle while stacked with short acting testosterones and orals like stanozolol will create a cycle good for cutting.
